Steak Digital will be responsible for the search engine optimisation account, while sister company Minute Steak will run the paid search marketing activity for the online publisher.
The agencies will be tasked with linking building to increase traffic to Yudu and build brand awareness although Minute will focus primarily on delivering leads to the Yudu Pro site, which offers advanced digital publishing features ideal for larger businesses and publishers.
Last year Yudu launched an online magazine service, Yudu Store, to host publications online. The service includes subscribers' clubs, forums and polls, alongside access to magazines' back catalogues.
Last August Yudu appointed the Times' former head of online marketing Robert Elding to lead the team.
The business launched September 2008. The firm employs 16 staff at bases in London, Lancashire and Boston in the US, and is privately backed.
