Winter Wonderland attracts three million visitors

More than three million people attended London's annual Winter Wonderland event in Hyde Park, which closed last night (3 January) following a six-week residency.

The event, which is organised by PWR Events and The Royal Parks, saw an increased emphasis on catering, with the likes of Mr Fogg’s and Le Bun coming on board; meanwhile the Bavarian Village was designed to be more family friendly. 

Additionally, the Magical Ice Kingdom featured new ice and snow sculptures, and Zippos Circus performed two new shows. 

Stephen Flint Wood, director of PWR Events, said: "Hyde Park Winter Wonderland continues to attract both new and loyal visitors and we are delighted with the response we have received this year. We look forward to returning next year and continuing to build on the success of the event."

Alun Mainwaring, head of events at The Royal Parks, added: "Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is a global attraction and we are very proud to host such a popular event. By enjoying the festivities and activities on offer, visitors are contributing vital funds which go back into conserving and enhancing the park for future generations."
