
The event called Malaysia Night will see 20 of the UK’s best Malaysian restaurants showcasing their top dishes ranging from satay and laksa to the lesser known apam balik - a sweet pancake filled with peanuts, sugar and sweetcorn.
Chefs including Ian Pengelly of Harrod’s restaurant Pan Chai, and winner of MasterChef, Tim Anderson, will be holding cooking demonstrations at the free event that is expected to attracted around 20,000 people.
An authentic marketplace featuring spices and specialities of Malay will also be set up in the square, while entertainment will be provided by Malaysian artists and dancers.

The night is part of the year-long programme by Malaysia Kitchen that aims to inspire British consumers to explore Malaysian cuisine.
