Over on BBC Two the final of cookery competition 'Masterchef', which saw IT engineer Matt Follas crowned the winner after preparing a meal of rabbit, spider crab and lavender, attracted 5.2m viewers and a 20.8% share of the 8pm-9pm audience.
The second part of Billy Connolly's 'Journey to the Edge of the World', which took the comedian to Baffin Island, home of the Inuits, won the 9pm slot with 4.3m viewers and an 18.2% share of the audience.

'Margaret', a BBC Two drama about the downfall of Margaret Thatcher, drew 2.6m viewers and a 12% share of the 9pm-10.45pm audience.
Channel 4 documentary 'Love, Life, Death in the Day', featuring film-maker Sue Bourne's series of snapshots of both life and death in one 24-hour period in Bristol, scored 1.8m viewers and a 7.4% share of the 9pm-10pm audience. Including Channel 4+1 figures it reached 2m viewers.
Five's airing of mystery thriller 'Freedomland', starring Julianne Moore and Samuel L Jackson, pulled in 1m viewers and a 5.3% share of the 9pm-11.15pm audience.
