The agency won the account from Aegis' digital agency Diffiniti, although the Aegis agency will still be working with the brand on activity such as homepage takeovers and rich media. Auto Trader spent £2.2m on all media between August 2008 and July 2009, according to The Nielsen Company.

The Search Works will develop an "Auto Trader top trumps" card game that will allow players to compete against each other in real time. Each card will then contain links to purchase new or used versions of the car on the Auto Trader website.

Last month, Media Week revealed The Search Works' parent company, TradeDoubler, appointed Simon Burgess as UK managing director and regional director, UK and Ireland, replacing Ben Wood who left to join Diffiniti as managing director in May.
