Richard Cook and Robert Johnston have been appointed as executive editors, jointly responsible for the day-to-day running and commissioning for the magazine, as well as managing contributing editors and journalists from around the world.
Johnston, who takes up his new post in January, joins from Langmead's most recent employer Associated Newspapers. Johnston was launch editor of weekly entertainment supplement Metrolife, which is distributed free with the Evening Standard. An experienced newspaper journalist, he is also a former editor of The Sunday Times Style magazine. Previously he was an editor at Tatler magazine and spent two years working in Australia on publications such as Gourmet Traveller.
Langmead, who took up his editorship at Wallpaper last week, was formerly lifestyle features editor at the Evening Standard.
Cook, who joined Wallpaper in June 2001 from the Financial Times, is promoted from his post of features editor. He is credited with generating major news exclusives for the magazine, as well as managing its contributors from around the world.
Richard Johnstone, Wallpaper's publishing director, said: "Richard [Cook] has been a tower of strength over the last few months and has been committed to ensuring that the magazine's editorial has remained at a consistently high level while we sourced the very best senior team to take the title forward."
Langmead says: "I'm very pleased to be making these two additional appointments to my exceptional top team. Richard [Cook] is a committed member of the Wallpaper team and this is a deserved promotion.
"Robert has an exceptional national press background, is focused on delivering quality editorial and will ensure that Wallpaper's content stands up across our worldwide market."
Langmead has already made a series of hirings since his appointment as editor was announced. Last week, he tapped his former employer News International for Emma Moore, beauty director at The Sunday Times Style magazine for the last six years, to become beauty and grooming director.
Langmead is also a former editor of The Sunday Times Style magazine.
