Larter is the latest in a string of direct marketing appointments including ex-Proximity London CEO Amanda Phillips, who joined Volume Group's advisory board, and former president of the DMA Colin Lloyd, who was appointed to chair the board.
Larter will bring over 21 years experience in direct marketing and advertising to her new role on the Oracle account.
She started her career as a graduate recruit at Ogilvy & Mather Direct working on the American Express account and a, then, small client called Microsoft.
She then moved on to Grey Direct where, within four years of joining, she became managing director of the European headquarters, making headlines after persuading her colleagues to strip off for the ‘Naked' ad.
Larter then went on to hold board positions at Tequila\ on Canon Europe and most recently a board director at WDMP, where she led the £10.5m Carphone Warehouse and TalkTalk accounts.
Larter said: "(Volume) have such a unique blend of creative energy and technological excellence. It's exactly what I know a lot of London agencies would kill to have.
"With 21 in-house developers working closely with creatives like George Boyter, clients are definitely seeing quantifiable value."
Chris Sykes, CEO of the Volume Group, said: "As we see more interest from new clients, we want to make sure we continue to provide the same support our reputation suggests.
"Gina Larter is allowing us to do that with new clients, while her years of experience are helping to develop our growing client services team."
The appointment comes as Volume Group launches Enterprise Performance Management TV, supported by Oracle.
Oracle tasked Volume with supporting the development of a wider market understanding of EPM and to position Oracle as the thought leader in this arena.
The team decided to create an interactive web TV channel that brings together business intelligence and performance management in one place.
EPM TV is a digital TV channel that provides members with updated news, information, white papers, blogs and real-time debate from industry experts.
