VisitBritain pushes visitors to TripAdvisor

VisitBritain, the national tourist board, is promoting travel review site TripAdvisor on its website in a move to highlight user reviews of British hotels and tourist attractions.

The TripAdvisor logo is now featured on the VisitBritain website, , with a line of copy reading: "United Kingdom advice from real travellers".

Clicking on the logo takes the user to a .

The page features a range of "top-rated" tourist attractions, such as hotels, B&Bs, things to do and restaurants.

Each hotel option or visitor attraction featured has a TripAdvisor rating and a range of reviews, to enable visitors to make informed decisions about what to do when visiting the UK.

TripAdvisor has similar partnerships with other official tourism bodies operating in London, Scotland, Germany and Austria, among others.

Justin Reid, head of digital and social media at VisitBritain, said: "As Britain’s national tourism agency, we aim to attract visitors from all over the world and help those visitors have the best possible holiday.

"By partnering with TripAdvisor, not only are we making it easier for travellers to find the best of Britain, but we are also providing them with a platform to see what other customers recommend."
