The campaign, which was developed in partnership between marketing and PR consultancy Bonner & Hindley Communications, and regional media agency Brilliant Media, features 12 attractions in four 30-second ads.
Each of the 12 attractions paid an equal amount to be part of the campaign, which runs until 24 April, and they were split into groups of three, so each could have a 10-second slot in one of the ads.
The 21 members of Yorkshire’s Magnificent Attractions claim to attract more than eight million visitors a year from within and outside the region. By working together, they aim to get a greater share of voice than they would by advertising individually.
Deborah Hindley, chair of the consortia and director of Bonner & Hindley Communications, said the campaign aimed to inspire Yorkshire residents and visitors to the county to experience the county's "extraordinarily varied attractions".
Hindley said: "We felt it was time to take this fantastic product to a new and potentially wider audience, with a high-impact advertising campaign. We expect more than three million people to see the ads during the run and for that to have a measurable impact on visitor numbers."
Other marketing activity from Yorkshire’s Magnificent Attractions includes publishing leaflets, voucher books and a magazine, as well as emarketing, social media and online ads.
