Virgin Media shortlists digital agencies

LONDON - Virgin Media has selected a shortlist of eight digital agencies to pitch for its online marketing strategy across all Virgin Media products including broadband and mobile.

From a longlist of 100 agencies, the media company has chosen Work Club, Weapon7, Saint, Start and Rapier to pitch, along with a handful of unconfirmed agencies.

AKQA and Dare have denied speculation they are on the shortlist as both have client conflicts.

The appointed retained agency will be able to deliver on web builds as well as creative online activity for events like the V-Festival and Virgin Media Shorts, and complete viral work to target key demographics and promote the Virgin brand.

The brief is being handled by head of online and acquisitions Sonia Sudhaker.

Virgin Media refused to comment on the shortlist.
