Claire Cronin, previously Virgin Holidays’ vice-president of customer and marketing, has replaced Luanne Calvert, senior vice-president, global marketing and communications.
Calvert, according to Virgin Atlantic, left for "personal reasons". She only took responsibility for the airline’s marketing in January, in addition to her duties as chief marketing officer for Virgin America.
Virgin Atlantic denied the marketing roles were being merged.
The move comes two months after Virgin Atlantic held a pitch among its roster agencies for a consolidated global ad account, which involved incumbents Adam & Eve/DDB (UK) and Figulio & Partners (North America). However, Virgin Atlantic decided not to consolidate the business following the review.
