Vanity Fair to launch in Spain next year

LONDON - Vogue and Glamour publisher Condé Nast will launch Vanity Fair in Spain in September 2008.

The magazine will be produced from Condé Nast’s Madrid offices and will complement existing Spanish titles including Vogue Espana, Fragancias y Cosmeticos, Glamour and Condé Nast Traveller.

The new monthly magazine will be the fourth overseas edition of the US flagship title. A monthly edition is published in the UK and weekly editions are published in Italy and Germany.

The Spanish publication’s format will be similar to the UK edition, although since the first title will not hit newsstands until next autumn, a mock-up version is yet to be released.

Focus groups will now work on modifying design and editorial for a Spanish audience, while commercial teams will approach media agencies and advertisers.

Lourdes Garzon has been appointed editor, and has been working on the project for the past year.
