The event company revealed that it is expecting around 33,000 visitors to attend this year’s festive gadget show, which takes place at London’s Earls Court between 1 and 3 November. This compares to the inaugural Christmas event in 2012, which attracted just over 27,000 tech fans.
Katie Tozer, event manager at Upper Street Events, said: "These are big numbers and we’re making big promises, but we’re confident in the stats because we know from exhibitor feedback last year that our visitors want to play unreleased games at the show and they want to spend money on software and hardware.
"And that’s the big difference between Gadget Show Live @ Christmas and all other consumer gaming events in the UK – our visitors turn up at the show with shopping in mind and they are not shy about putting their hands in their pockets."
Upper Street Events also revealed that 93% of all visitors are avid gamers, and 86% of attendees said their decision to purchase new games consoles including Playstation 4 and Xbox One, both expected to be released in November, could be swayed by being able to test them out at the show.
UK entertainment business Game has been named as the official gaming retailer for this year’s event, while the Game Zone stage will return to Gadget Show Live @ Christmas allowing gamers to try out some of the newest titles, often before release, as well as gaming technology.
Over 160 tech companies exhibited at the 2012 launch event including Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, Electronic Arts, Capcom, and Warner Bros.
