UKTV History will be branded Yesterday from 2 March. It will launch alongside a new website.

The channel will target upmarket couples aged 30 and above. The profile is a combination of avid history fans and those who enjoy history in more accessible and entertaining forms.

Yesterday will be available to one million homes nationwide through Freeview, Sky Digital and Virgin Cable services.

The programming on the channel will include Andrew Marr's History of Modern Britain, Auschwitz, The Alan Clark Diaries, House of Cards and Antiques Roadshow.  Other series acquired from third parties will be announced shortly.

The new channel proposition and name was developed in-house at UKTV. The pay TV broadcaster's marketing team worked closely with incumbent creative agency, Red Bee Media, to develop Yesterday's on-screen identity, which will include 15 different variations on its logo.

This is the third UKTV channel to be rebranded following the launch of Eden and Blighty. The final wave of the network's will be completed in the next few months with the re-launch of its lifestyle channels.
