Mother has appointed Bartle Bogle Hegarty's Jon Andrews and Ben Heap to the new positions of head of creative technology and head of creative resource respectively. Andrews and Heap, who were in the same positions at BBH, will play a role in attempting to diversify Mother's creative output. Directories company Yell has hired Mars marketer Jenny Ashmore to the new role of group chief marketer officer as its kicks off a "comprehensive evaluation" of its brand portfolio. Ashmore, who joins from her role as global chief marketing capability officer at Mars, will take responsibility for Yell's global marketing strategy in the UK, US, Spain and Latin American markets.

Chief executive Stevie Spring and finance director John Bowman have "resigned with immediate effect" from their positions at specialist publisher Future. Future UK chief executive Mark Wood, appointed just over a year ago, will replace Spring, who hired Wood, and UK FD Graham Harding will take on Bowman’s duties.
Steve Bignell, the chief operating officer at the WPP media agency MediaCom, has been appointed to the position of sales director at ITV. Bignell will work with fellow sales director Mark Trinder and will have responsibility for multi-platform sales including online and sponsorship. Matt Andrews, the strategy director at Mother, is leaving to join Mindshare UK as its chief strategy officer. Andrews will be responsible for the strategic and creative leadership of the agency, and will run its strategy, invention and insight teams. Darren Singh, advertising director for Hearst's Esquire magazine, has been appointed publisher of ShortList. Singh will join ShortList Media in January, reporting to managing director Karl Marsden. He will be responsible for overseeing the brand's commercial activities and will work closely with ShortList editor Martin Robinson to develop brand extensions.
IPC Media has appointed Emily Hutchings, the current publisher of weekly titles Now and Soaplife, as publishing director of music titles NME and Uncut. Hutchings will sit within the IPC Inspire team, reporting to the division's managing director Paul Williams. She replaces Paul Cheal, who moves to become digital publishing director across IPC Media.
Stefan Bardega has rejoined MediaCom full-time as the media agency's new head of mobile and innovation, six months after switching to a part-time role to launch his own company. Bardega, formerly joint head of MediaCom Beyond Advertising at MediaCom, had most recently been splitting his time between MediaCom and mobile creative agency Ubinow, where he was a founding partner.
