TNT Post sales and marketing director Marc Caulfield had left the company to pursue other opportunities. Caulfield joined the company in 2010, having previously run his own consultancy.
The Government is reorganising its communications functions and has appointed Jenny Grey as acting executive director of government communications, and placed the 400 remaining COI staff in a consultation period. The appointment of Grey, who keeps her current role as director of policy and communications for the Cabinet Office, is with immediate effect and is intended to manage the transition to a post-COI world in about March next year. Rob Atkinson, the chief operating officer of Clear Channel UK, has been appointed interim chief executive of Clear Channel's Adshel joint venture in Australia and New Zealand. Following the departure of Adshel chief executive Steve McCarthy, Atkinson will join Adshel on secondment from 1 November, until a permanent chief executive has been appointed.
Google has appointed its senior European marketer Dan Cobley as its new UK managing director, replacing Matt Brittin who has been promoted to a senior European role. The reshuffle of senior Google executives has been prompted by the promotion of Philipp Schindler, Google’s current vice-president of Google Europe, who has moved to a global role based in Google’s headquarters in California.
Turner Media Innovations, Turner Broadcasting's ad sales arm, has promoted online sales manager Rachel Lewis to digital commercial director, EMEA, following the departure of Colleen Kearney. As digital commercial director, Lewis will be charged with leading the digital commercial strategy for Turner Broadcasting’s online properties.
