Grey London has promoted Ivan Palmer and Craig Morgan to the agency's board. Palmer is the managing partner of the social media agency Social Partners, which was previously known as Wildfire and is now majority owned by Grey. Morgan, a former managing partner at Elvis and the client services director at Tribal DDB, is the digital director at Grey. Skype, the internet telephony provider, has unceremoniously booted out chief marketing officer Doug Bewsher and seven other executives, ahead of its £8.5bn (£5.2bn) takeover by Microsoft. Don Albert, vice-president and general manager for the Americas and advertising, plus six other boardroom members were also dismissed. ()
Danny Micklethwaite, vice-president of marketing at Arla, has left the dairy company to take up the newly created role of head of development at Morrisons. Micklethwaite, who had been with Arla for more than a decade, will report to own-brand director Belinda Youngs, who joined Morrisons from Canadian retailer Sobeys. ()
Virgin Media has appointed Michael Payne, currently 1-2-1 marketing director at the retail division of Lloyds Banking Group, to the new role of director of strategic customer insights and 1-2-1 marketing. ()
Former Asda chief executive Andy Bond has launched a new business venture that will buy retail and consumer businesses. Bond, who quit as Asda's chief executive last year, has joined forces with a number of business supremos, including ex-Goldman Sachs investment banker David Yealland. ()
David Poley, the chief executive of drinks industry marketing regulator Portman Group, is leaving after a 14-year spell at the organisation. The Portman Group refused to say whether he had another job to go to. ()
Japanese car company Nissan has promoted its UK managing director Paul Willcox to its top European marketing role. Willcox, currently managing director at Nissan Motor GB, will take up the position of senior vice-president, sales and marketing for Nissan in Europe, from 1 July. He replaces Simon Thomas, who is leaving the manufacturer after 20 years to "pursue a career outside Nissan". ()

JCDecaux, the outdoor media owner, has appointed Absolute Radio's advertising director Paul Carolan to the new role of commercial director, as part of a wave of appointments and promotions. Stacey Knight, currently group head of sales at the Fox-owned men's lifestyle website IGN, has been appointed to the position of head of digital at JCDecaux, while group business director David Lambert has been promoted to director of agency and specialist sales. Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), the publisher of the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror, has promoted head of strategic sales Yvon Nolle to the new role of head of newspapers, as part of a rejig of its commercial offering. ()
Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) has realigned its core team of global executives under the guidance of global chief executive of SMG, Laura Desmond. Iain Jacob, chief executive of the EMEA region, becomes president of dynamic markets, and will help guide local leaders across larger markets outside the United States and Mexico. Thierry Jadot, currently chief executive of SMG France, will add to his title executive vice-president of emerging markets, and will work closely with the leaders in markets including India, Russia and China. IPC Media has appointed Kevin Heery as digital technology director, replacing Kelly Waters who is leaving to emigrate to Australia. Heery joins from IPC Inspire where he was digital director. In his new role, he will report to Neil Robinson, digital director, IPC Media, and will lead a 70-strong digital technology team. ()
