Trading Places (15 Jan): This week's people moves in advertising, digital, marketing and media

LONDON - In Michael Steckler and Sarah Perry, AOL Advertising lost two big hitters this week as the New Year brought a raft of industry moves in advertising, digital, marketing and media.

Mike Cooper, the former managing director of Interpublic's IPM in the UK, has left Aegis's Posterscope USA without a job to go to, after less than a year with the poster specialist. Cooper is understood to have completed a three-month period of gardening leave and is already back in the UK, considering his options. ()

Andrew Oldham, former chief operating officer of CBS Outdoor, has been appointed as interim chief executive of Ocean Outdoor replacing founder Damian Cox who has stepped back from day to day operations. ()

Bauer Media has appointed Patrick Horton to the new role of head of marketing, men's and entertainment for titles such as FHM and Q. Horton was formerly publishing strategist and associate publisher with ACP Magazines in Australia. ()

IPC Southbank has expanded the role of its women's lifestyle publishing director Linda Swidenbank to become publishing director of InStyle, Wedding and Wedding Flowers. Swidenban replaces Kirsten Price, who left the position at the end of 2009. In addition, Inca Waddell, formerly acting publishing director on InStyle, takes the role of InStyle publisher. ()

Spear's, the glossy lifestyle magazine for the super-rich, has appointed Christian Price as publisher. Price, a former group ad director at Condé Nast, will lead the multi-platform expansion of the wealth management brand, along with founder and editor-in-chief William Cash. ()

Cashpoint media owner atmAd has appointed James Ellis from CBS Outdoor to the position of account director of national sales. Ellis will be responsible for managing ad sales across atmAd's network of 6,000 screens to Aegis' out-of-home specialist Posterscope and its related media agencies. ()

Nicky Cheshire, former sales director of CBS Outdoor's digital arm Alive, is to be a consultant for the outdoor media owner and will work on special projects. She will work on CBS Outdoor's strategic development around the 2012 Olympics as well as sponsorship and new revenue streams. ()

Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw has appointed Jonathan Shaw, the founder of True Dream Enterprises, as its first information architect. Shaw will be responsible for providing digital and social media strategy and digital research across a range of Kitcatt Nohr's clients. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Lowe has restructured its global creative offering. The new set-up, established by Lowe's worldwide chief creative officer Matthew Bull, will see four global creative directors employed to provide support and advice to local creatives. The group includes Tom Markham, Raj Kamble and Patrick McClelland. Markham and Kamble will be based alongside Bull in New York, while McClelland will be based in London. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

R/GA, the full service digital agency, has made a raft of new appointments to its London office, as William Charnock takes on a new global strategy role. The agency's New York technology director Nick Coronges is joining the London office. In addition R/GA has promoted Lucio Rufo to design director from associate creative director. Profero London has appointed its managing director Nick Blunden to the role of UK chief executive. His appointment follows the departure of Daniele Fiandaca, Profero's European chief executive, who left the agency last month. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

LG Mobile's UK sales and marketing director John Barton is leaving the company after five years. Barton will depart in April to take on a role at a film production company. ()

Robin Auld, sales and marketing director at Domino's Pizza, plans to leave the country's largest pizza delivery company after working out his notice period, without a known job to go to. He will be replaced by former Papa John's and Pizza Hut marketer Simon Wallis, who starts in June. ()

News International has appointed experienced media marketer Barnaby Dawe as marketing director for The Sun and the News of The World. Dawe joins News International from Turner Broadcasting. He replaces Rob Painter, who held the job on an interim basis and has now shifted to portfolio, strategy and planning director within News International's customer direct team. ()

Google's director of strategic partnerships for EMEA Rob Jonas has left the search giant to become managing director Europe of mobile ad network InMobi. Jonas will be responsible for InMobi's European operation, which launched in the summer last year. ()

Tribal DDB has poached OgilvyOne's global digital planner Patrick Rona to head up its European operations. Rona will join Tribal DDB in February. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

AOL UK and Benelux managing director Michael Steckler is leaving the company at the end of the month. Steckler has decided to take voluntary redundancy. Kate Burns, head of European ad sales, will manage the UK business as part of her broader remit. ()

Hugh Chappell, the founder and managing director of electronics review website Trustedreviews.com, has been appointed as chairman of Net Communities. Net Communities suite of ad networks was founded by Andy Evans, who is believed to considering a possible exit. ()

Robert Rasmussen, the former executive creative director of innovation at Bartle Bogle Hegarty New York, has been named as the new US chief creative officer and NY executive creative director at Tribal DDB. ()

Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy has poached Fallon planners Stephanie Newman and Tamsin Northridge in an effort to boost its strategic offering. Newman joins the agency as a board account planner. Northridge joins MCBD as a planner. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Getmemedia, the media and marketing ideas website, has appointed Amy Micheal to the new role of agency account director, while Fraser Rattray takes up the new role of marketing and insight director. ()

AOL Advertising's sales director Sarah Perry is leaving the business at the end of the month as part of the company's voluntary redundancy programme. Perry joined AOL Advertising in May 2008 as client sales director from Getmemedia.com, where she was commercial director. ()
