LONDON - Haymarket's Lord Heseltine, Grey's Jon Williams and Absolute Radio's Chris Lawson hit the headlines as Brand Republic rounds up the week's industry moves in advertising, digital, marketing and media.

Advertising

Marina Palomba, the head of the IPA's legal department is leaving to return to a career in private legal practice. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Jon Williams, the executive creative director of Grey London, has moved to the role of chief digital officer of EMEA and global creative director on Allianz. He will be replaced by Nils Leonard, the current joint creative director, working alongside Andy Amadeo. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Digital

Daniele Fiandaca, the European chief executive of digital network Profero, is leaving the agency to pursue other interests. Fiandaca, who has worked at Profero since 1999, will leave the agency before Christmas but will remain a shareholder in the company and will continue to run Creative Social, the collective of digital creatives he co-founded in 2003. I-level, the digital agency, has made two senior appointments, boosting its media, search and technological expertise. will take up the role of search director in January. He will be responsible for I-Level's paid search clients including Orange. Additionally, Oscar Romero will oversee the Procter & Gamble international account at I-Level. ()

Marketing

Volkswagen has promoted to the role of Skoda UK head of marketing. Newitt replaces Mary Newcombe, who recently took up the position of head of learning services. ()

Shop Direct has appointed former Phones4U Direct managing director as brand director for Very.co.uk. Jones was at Phones4U Direct for three years. Jones replaces Alison Broadhurst, who left Shop Direct in October. ()

Media

, the founder and executive chairman of the UK's largest independently owned publishing company, Haymarket Media Group, is to hand over the reigns to his son Rupert in January next year. Lord Heseltine will relinquish his role as executive chairman in January 2010, bringing to an end more than fifty years at the helm of the company he founded in 1957. ()

Digicom has appointed , ad manager at specialist publisher TRMG, to the role of account director. The digital out-of-home sales house has also appointed , international business development director of WPP out-of-home agency Kinetic, as account director. ()

Discovery has named TV industry veteran as chief operating officer, replacing Mark Hollinger, who last week was named chief executive of Discovery Networks International, its TV arm. ()

Absolute Radio's brand director , the executive who helped lead its rebrand from Virgin Radio, is leaving the company to pursue a new digital venture. He leaves by mutual consent on 18 December. ()

, the former director of TV at ITV, is to succeed Michael Kuhn as chairman of the National Film and Television School. ()

Microsoft Advertising has confirmed as its commercial director of consumer and online, replacing Chris Ward who left in July. ()

RDF Media has named as head of sales at RDF Contact, its new brand-facing, commercial and digital division. ()

Johnston Press has appointed , Mastercard's global e-commerce chief, as a non-executive director from 1 January. ()

BSkyB has appointed as commercial head of Sky Sports Magazine. Stephenson is rejoining the broadcaster less than a year after she left the company. ()

, Scottish business director of CBS Outdoor, has left the company to pursue other interests. Duffy's duties have now been taken on temporarily by Esther Morton. ()
