LONDON - Pure is attempting to drag radio into the digital age by launching the world's first wi-fi enabled, touch screen DAB radio.

Radio's new look

The Sensia radio offers users internet and radio content including podcasts and listen again services, DAB/DAB+ and FM, and a growing set of custom apps such as weather, news, Picasa, Facebook and Twitter. The radio can also stream music stored on a user's home computer via WiFi.

Inspired by Apple's iPod, the Sensia is controlled via a touchscreen interface, letting users scroll and spin through playlists, tap to select staions, slide controls and swipe to change views.

Users can choose between a multi-panel and a full screen view. The screen consists of a visual panel for viewing apps, station slideshows or album artwork and a now playing panel.

The radio is supported by a campaign site, () which includes a 3D interactive overview of Sensia as well as a virtual guide.
