Top Up TV expands NBC content with TVBox

LONDON - NBC Universal programmes such as Law & Order and Miami Vice will be available on-demand through a new service called TVBox being launched by Top Up TV, the pay-TV service on Freeview.

Current and library content selected from more than 55,000 TV episodes will be available through Top Up TV's Anytime service.

TVBox follows the launch of NBC Universal's on-demand service for films, PictureBox, in the UK in autumn 2006 and multiple territories since. Top Up TV is the first platform in the world to feature both Universal's television and film services.

Programmes which will be available include the separate series' of Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, as well as Friday Night Lights and Monk, plus classics such as Quantum Leap and Columbo.

Jim Hytner, commercial director at Top Up TV, said recent research has shown crime drama is very popular with Top Up TV's audience and he was pleased to offer a huge amount of high quality, contemporary and classic drama "week in, week out".
