While Spurs' app is four months behind North London rivals Arsenal, the club is claiming its commentary offering is a first for a Premier League outfit.
The app costs £2.99 to buy and can be used without the optional subscription, which also covers video content, simply giving news updates and matchday minute-by-minute text updates.
It does not currently carry any advertising or sponsor, in contrast to Arsenal's app, which is co-funded and co-branded by its mobile partner O2.
A spokesman said that ad sales were "not beyond the realms of possibility but nothing is set in stone at the moment".
The application has been developed by sports-focused digital media production company Perform, which also powers SpursTV online, and mobile developers Bright Al.
