Spotify's Anders Sehr ensured users that a Symbian app, which runs the S60 software platform, would be coming soon.
The news will come as a welcome relief to owners of popular S60 handsets, from Samsung and Nokia, such as Nokia's N96, N97 or 5800 XpressMusic.
Sehr wrote on the Spotify blog: "It's an early version and we still have a fair bit of work to do before we can release it but we wanted to give you a little idea of what to expect. And like our other mobile apps, Spotify for S60 will be available for our premium subscribers."
Spotify did not say if it would be developing an app for Windows Mobile handsets.
Last week Nokia announced that its N97 handset had "defied" its critics by selling more than 2m units since launching three months ago.
Nokia has about 1 billion customers, although not all will be using a Symbian operated handset.
The company said combined sales of the N97 and 5800 XpressMusic totalled 10m in the last 10 months, half of which coming in the last three months.
Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, Nokia chief executive, said: "We have a unique position in the smartphone market. Nokia is the undisputed leading player in the smartphones space."
