The Sports Facility Show is organised by the Sports and Play Construction Association (SAPCA) and will be held on 30 April 2013 at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, Motherwell.

Sponsored by national agency for sport, Sportscotland, the event is aimed at anybody involved in the development of sports facilities, from sports clubs and schools to leisure operators and local authorities.

As well as exhibitors from the sports and play construction sector, the event will include expert advice and seminar series featuring a keynote on the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup and their legacy with regard to sports facilities.

The show is supported by leading sporting government bodies, including the Scottish FA, Scottish Rugby and the Scottish Golf Union.

Stewart Harris, chief executive of Sportscotland, said: "It is vitally important that we are investing in Scotland’s sporting infrastructure because good sports facilities are an important hook for encouraging people into sport and ensuring they stay involved."

SAPCA has also announced a second Sports Facility Show to take place at Coventry's Ricoh Arena on 27 June.
