It comes as the company marks its ten-year anniversary with the publication of EventScotland: Celebrating 10 Years.
The organisation states £30m has been invested across EventScotland’s programmes since 2003, and estimates more than £763m economic impact from its international events programme. More than 1,000 events have been supported by EventScotland during the ten-year period.
EventScotland’s national events strategy, detailed in Scotland: The Perfect Stage, was launched in 2008 to provide a framework for Scotland’s event industry and outline plans up to 2020.
It has since said elements of the strategy need to be updated, and will undergo a review in 2015 to outline new goals.
Paul Bush, chief operating officer for EventScotland, said: "Reading through this new publication it is clear that the Scottish events industry has grown a great deal over the past decade and it has been a privilege to have been part of that.
"Our first ten years has provided a solid platform and we can be proud about what we have achieved, however we cannot afford to be complacent. We must relish the opportunities ahead, overcome any challenges and continue to raise the bar."
Mike Cantlay, chairman of VisitScotland, added: "From year one, the impact made by EventScotland.
"Following the integration of the team as a directorate of VisitScotland in 2007, we have become stronger and more influential, recognising that events are a key driver for tourism growth and working in partnership across many agencies and with the private sector. Connecting the marketing and events activity has been crucial to secure future economic growth."
He said Scotland’s event portfolio has grown considerably during the last decade, including a number of international events such as the Heineken Cup Final, The Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships, World Cross Country Championships and the MOBO Awards.
Yesterday (8 January), VisitScotland launched a £500,000 marketing campaign designed to encourage local residents, as well as those in the north of England and Northern Ireland, to visit Homecoming Scotland 2014 events.
