Sportingbet launches Euro 2008 email campaign

LONDON - Sportingbet is launching a direct campaign in preparation for the Euro 2008 tournament.

Creative agency LIDA has designed an online gaming site that will run alongside an email campaign. Emails will be sent to Sportingbet’s existing customer database as well as cold lists in order to attract new customers.

Online gamers will be directed to a prediction microsite where they can win a million euros by predicting the results of group games and the final.

During the tournament personalised emails will be sent to customers in specific areas across Europe. These will correspond to each nation’s fixtures, for example, Spanish members will receive emails the day before each of Spain’s games to encourage them to place a bet.

A second online game will support the email campaign and offer the chance to win 50,000 euros in daily prizes.

The two-pronged campaign is part of an ongoing relationship between LIDA and Sportingbet.

Lisa Thomas, chief executive officer at LIDA, said: “The Euro 2008 tournament is a great opportunity to build relationships with existing customers using closely targeted offers.”
