Specsavers launches online game

LONDON - Specsavers has developed its first interactive project, a piggy bank-themed digital game, to promote its value message.

The game, which will feature on AOL and Yahoo!'s homepages, encourages users to bash a piggy bank with an animated hand. However, the sequence is designed to make this impossible. The frustrated player is finally greeted with the line 'Should've gone to Specsavers' and a link to the site promoting the opticians' '£25 and above' range of frames.

The work was developed by Specsavers' in-house ad department.

Specsavers said digital is set to become an increasingly important part of Specsavers' marketing plans.
