Spain against Honduras draws 6.3 million

ITV's live coverage of Spain's defeat of Honduras in the World Cup dominated last night's primetime TV schedule, attracting 6.3 million viewers according to unofficial overnight figures.

Between 7pm and 9.30pm, an average of 6.338 million viewers watched the game on either ITV1 or ITV1 HD  – a 30% share of the TV-watching audience.

ITV's ‘James Corden’s World Cup Live’ was watched by an average of 3.274 million people between 9.30pm and 10pm, taking a 14.5% share of the available audience.

The third episode of the ‘Mary, Queen of Shops’ series was watched by an average of 2.978 million people on BBC Two – a 13% of the TV watching audience.

A repeat of the Caroline Ahern sitcom 'The Royle Family', aired on BBC1, was watched by an average of 2.375 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm and took a 10.3% share of the available audience.

‘Chasing the Cumbrian Killer’, a documentary on Channel 4 about the recent mass murder Derrick Bird, had an average of 1.583 viewers between 9pm and 10pm – a 6.9% share of the available audience. An additional 165,000 people watched the programme on Channel 4+1.

The latest instalment of the last series of ‘Big Brother’ was watched by an average of 2.272 million across Channel 4 and Channel 4+1.
