Brazil's second World Cup game attracts 7.3 m viewers to BBC One

Brazil's match against the Ivory Coast last night was watched by 7.3 million people, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Between 9pm and 10pm, BBC One's 'Match of The Day Live' was watched by 6.7 million viewers.  Brazil's 3-1 victory earned the channel a 32.8% share of viewing.

ITV1's detective drama 'Lewis' was the next popular programme during the 9pm to 10pm slot, drawing in 3.7 million viewers and a 15.9% share.

On Channel 4, 'Big Brother' attracted an audience of 2.3 million and a 9.5% share. Including Channel 4 + 1 ratings, the programme was seen by 2.6 million.

BBC Two's conservation programme 'Wild Night In' entertained 1.4 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm, gaining a 5.5% share.

Channel Five's offering of the 1998 Nicole Kidman film 'Practical Magic' was watched by 1.2 million people at the same time, reaping 5.8% of total viewers.
