Souk Digital appointed to develop Cineworld's website

LONDON – Cineworld has selected Souk Digital to develop its new website, which will combine existing websites for UCG Cinemas and Cineworld's Cine UK cinemas to encourage people to book tickets in advance and raise awareness of the brand.

Cineworld's parent company, The Blackstone Group, bought UGC Cinemas in November 2004. Between July and September, all UGC Cinemas were rebranded under the Cineworld brand.

Souk will be combining the websites into a single booking, reference and e-commerce site for the UK and Ireland under the address .

The new user-friendly site will launch at the end of October with the aim of inspiring filmgoers to check out new releases.

The website will also act as a direct marketing channel for key products such as its gift vouchers and Unlimited Card, which allows unlimited access to cinemas for a flat monthly subscription fee.

In September, ad agency HDM merged with the direct marketing agency WDPA and the digital shop Mitchell Conner Searson to form Souk Communications.

Soul Communications operates through three divisions -- Souk Advertising, Souk Response and Souk Digital.
