
Located within Aston University campus in Birmingham, the spaces includes two function rooms, a contemporary banqueting space and a 162-bedroom hotel.
Sodexo Prestige will provide conference and banqueting catering – including a full restaurant offer from breakfast to dinner – room service to the 162 hotel bedrooms, hotel lounge drinks and bar meals and private restaurant facilities for corporate dining. Cleaning services will be provided through its own specialised cleaning division, Essence.
Fiona Foster, director of Conference Aston, said she wanted to partner with an organisation that shared their values. "Sodexo Prestige demonstrated through the tender process its brand alignment with our culture and values, which will build the foundation for a true partnership relationship," she said.
David Johnson, managing director for Sodexo Prestige England and Wales, added: "We are delighted to start building our venue portfolio in the Midlands, which will increase the appeal of our venue group to the event organisers and we are also proud to operate in partnership with another Conference Centres of Excellence venue."
Conference Aston achieved IS14001 certification in 2011, something Sodexo Prestige will support through its own sustainable event management system, which aims to gain BS8901 certification within the next 12 months.
Meanwhile, Sodexo Prestige in Scotland has won a three-year contract to provide conferencing and banqueting facilities for Freemasons’ Hall in Edinburgh.
