New head of events for Sodexo Prestige

Sodexo Prestige has appointed Alex Beaumont to the role of head of events.

Beaumont joined the business in 2006 as catering development manager. He is now responsible for Sodexo Prestige’s event business, which includes RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Royal Ascot and The Open Golf Championship.

He is responsible for staff recruitment and training, risk assessment and site management, as well as menu tasting, catering and hospitality packages.

Beaumont joined Sodexo Prestige from Macdonald Hotels where he was catering development manager.

Chris John, managing director of Sodexo Prestige and Corporate Services, UK and Ireland, said: "Alex is a fantastic operator with a real passion and flair for food, and he knows how to get the best from his team. I am extremely pleased to announce his appointment and am confident that he will make an outstanding contribution to the business."
