Hosted in the venue’s main assembly room, the event recognised the organisations and individuals who play a significant role in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, continuing to raise awareness around sport and creating a positive social impact.

Attended by the UK’s most influential and senior leaders in sport, business and government, the evening was led by the Mayor of London Boris Johnson and Lord Seb Coe, and provided networking opportunities as well as the presentation of the awards.

Smyle was commissioned to support all technical and content delivery requirements for the event, which included the design and delivery of the stage, AV, lighting and sound.

Nick Keller, founder of Beyond Sport, said: "It was important for us to put on an event worthy of the fantastic projects and organisations being recognised at the Beyond London 2012 Awards, and Smyle were a crucial part of that.

"Just as important as their expertise is the fact that their own impressive sustainability efforts sit at the heart of their business, making them the perfect fit as a supplier to Beyond Sport."

Rick Stainton, managing director at Smyle, added: "The team at Smyle are very proud to have been commissioned to support this high profile project that aligns very closely with our own ISO20121 initiatives running across the company’s operations."

Six organisations from a shortlist of 19 leading examples of legacy work were named as award winners on the night, and will receive business support as well as funding packages through the Beyond Sport Foundation.

The Beyond London 2012 Awards evening also saw the launch of the charity International Inspiration, the continuation of London 2012’s international legacy programme.

It has helped to encourage more than 15 million children and young people in over 20 countries internationally to play sport by developing leadership skills, promoting better health, achieving greater inclusion and widening access to education through the power of sport.
