Chris Martelly, who has been with the company for eight years, has been promoted to group operations director. He will be responsible for the delivery of all of Showforce’s international services.
Initially, Martelly will be exploring new opportunities in Brazil and Russia, as well as continuing to mentor the company’s UK and Middle East teams.
Karyn Halifax, previously venue security manager for Locog, has been appointed as Showforce’s new UK operations director. She will oversee all operations team activities, and will develop existing crewing services, including the technical crew and event staff which are proving popular in the Middle East.
Halifax has more than 15 years experience in the events industry and has worked on major exhibitions at The O2 and within London.
In addition, Esteban Benedicto has joined the company’s sales team at its London office and will focus on new business generation, specifically promoting the technical crew and event staffing.
Mike Smith, chief operating officer at Showforce, said: "Following the sustained international growth of the business, which is a direct result of our successes at London 2012, we felt the timing was right to re-structure and strengthen the operations and sales divisions.
"Chris, Karyn and Esteban bring a wealth of expertise to the team; with a shared determination to deliver the best possible service, develop prosperous working relationships with both clients and suppliers and a clear passion for events, we are confident they will be valuable assets for the business."
Showforce was recently contracted to supply stage and event crew to the Julius Baer Beach Polo Cup in Dubai, which took place on 19 and 20 April.
