ShopStyle fashion site set to launch in UK

LONDON - ShopStyle, the US fashion and social shopping website, is launching in the UK this September with House of Fraser, French Connection and All Saints signed as brand partners.

The , currently in beta phase testing in the UK, lets users search for and buy clothes, shoes, accessories and bags from hundreds of different brands, retail outlets and shopping districts, such as Portobello Road, Knightsbridge or Bond Street.

Other brands that have signed up to ShopStyle for its UK launch include Net-a-Porter, Anya Hindmarch, La Senza and Miu Miu, among others.

Users can access information on new trends and celebrity looks and can rate items or post comments about them.

They can also build their own profiles, called Stylebooks, which feature their favourite looks and their own blogs. Fellow shoppers are able to view, share and comment on each others' Stylebooks.

Andy Moss, general manager of ShopStyle, launched the social fashion website in the US in February 2007 and it now attracts more than 2m unique users each month.

Moss said: "We're like Google for the fashion world. Via the aggregation of multiple brands and retailers we make shopping easy and convenient, bringing products and brands directly to shoppers via search terms, a bit like an independent personal shopper."
