Shiny Media branches out with US fashion blogs

LONDON - Blogging firm Shiny Media is to roll out its first American blogs, timed to coincide with New York fashion week.

will focus on fashion while will centre on make-up. The blogs will be written by Americans for a US audience, and will feature quirky stories and videos.

The blog publisher has committed to launch a further eight US fashion blogs, pondering affordable fashion and retail trends in US fashion stores.

Ashley Norris, Shiny Media CEO, said: "Brits launching US-only blogs might sound as daft as trying to sell ice to the Eskimos.

"However our existing London based blogs Catwalk Queen and Shoewawa are already in the top ten fashion blogs read by Americans, so we do have a good track record across the pond."

Andrea Thatcher, Shiny US editorial director, said: "Shiny Style and Shiny Gloss will be written by Americans for Americans and will major on what's hot in US fashion stores."

has 30 websites, which currently attract 3.5m unique visitors monthly. It was formed in 2004 and claims to be the UK's fastest growing new media publishing company.
