Guardian fashion handbook is biggest yet

LONDON - The Guardian will publish the biggest fashion handbook in its history this weekend, backed by a national advertising campaign.

The handbook will be stapled into The Guardian's Weekend magazine supplement, and comprises a 72-page pull-out special. The fashion handbook is a bi-annual supplement that The Guardian has been publishing for three years.

To back the launch, The Guardian will run a two-day national advertising campaign on radio created by BMP DDB, with media buying through PHD.

The fashion handbook was edited by Jess Cartner-Morley, Charlie Porter and Hadley Freeman, and features previews of autumn winter collections, as well as an interview with Jade Jagger.

It will carry advertising for Levi's -- the only national newspaper to do so -- as well as Chanel, Gucci and Moschino. Two advertisers have booked with the handbook for the first time: Russell & Bromley and Burberry Fragrance.

Stuart Taylor, advertisement director for The Guardian, said: "This is the biggest fashion handbook we have ever produced. The best in fashion writing enables us to attract premium brands to the magazine."
