Ronaldinho demonstrates ball skills in Fifa Street viral campaign

LONDON - Football superstar Ronaldinho demonstates his ball skills in a video clip being sent direct to the quarter-of-a-million strong email database owned by computer games company Electronic Arts to promote its new game.

'', which launched this month, stars the footballer and is being promoted in a movie filmed exclusively for the online push. Ronaldinho is shown performing ball skills in a film clip, before appearing to step out of the screen and kick the ball around icons on the user's desktop.

At the end of the clip, games fans can watch the making of the film, view a slideshow and forward it to a friend. The page contains links to the EA web site and to a bespoke microsite promoting 'Fifa Street'.

The viral was developed by agency 20:20 London using green screen technology; the footballer was filmed in action in Barcelona with special effects added later.

Tim Garbutt, managing director of 20:20 London, said: "What we've done is combine EA, the world's biggest games company with Ronaldinho, the worlds best footballer to create a viral film that fits in with a whole approach to get closer to street football."
