
The deal was brokered by event industry behemoth The Concerto Group and was made official on Wednesday (8 June) with a signing ceremony at the venue.
Members of the Romanian NOC, The Concerto Group and Searcys – the venue’s management and catering partner – were all in attendance.
They took a short guided tour of the Georgian townhouse before celebrating at the Searcys restaurant, 40|30 The Gherkin.
30 Pavilion Road is just across the park from the International Olympic Committee Hotel, The Hilton London Hyde Park, () and features a ‘country style’ décor with oak panelled rooms, marble flooring, eleven bedrooms, and a roof terrace.
The Romanian NOC secretary general Ioan Dobrescu said: "30 Pavilion Road is everything that we were looking for from a venue in London and we are very much looking forward to welcoming our guests to this spectacular venue, the base for our country during the London 2012 Games."
30 Pavilion Road general manager Paul Redmond added he was "thrilled" at the decision and is "very much look forward to working closely with the NOC team".
