Douthwaite had worked at RMG for just over two years, after joining the agency from his role as a creative at MRM Worldwide.

He had also worked at the digital agency Grand Union, and spent time at Wunderman.

During his time with RMG Connect, Douthwaite was responsible for a number of award-winning campaigns, including an HSBC digital campaign that picked up a silver award at last year's DMAs.

Dan Colley, the creative business partner at RMG Connect, said: "David gave his all to RMG in terms of passion, ability and humour, in addition to the number of accolades he received for his work. He will be missed not just by those at RMG, but throughout the industry among anyone who worked with him closely."

A memorial service for Douthwaite will be held at the Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception in Grosvenor Square on Friday 5 June at 10am.
