Eyre brings more than thirty years of media experience to the post, having previously served as chief executive of Capital Radio and the ITV Network and chief executive officer and chairman of Pearson Television.

"In the near future mobile advertising will represent a multi-billion dollar segment of the global media industry," he added.

Eyre is currently chairman of the Internet Advertising Bureau, GCAP Media, television production company RDF and serves as a director of The Eden Project.

He began his career in advertising, becoming the first media director of Bartle Bogle Hegarty in 1986.
