Financial terms were not disclosed but VCCP Media is thought to have paid about £10 million for Adconnection, which opened in 2001.

Paul Mead, the managing director of VCCP Media, becomes the chairman of the enlarged business. He claimed it is leading an industry trend with the return of "full service" by offering creative and media "under one roof".

Becker said clients will benefit from access to a wider range of services, including PR, content creation and sports marketing. "It’s what clients want," she added.

VCCP Media is largely digital, while Adconnection offers TV and other media.

This is the first purchase by Chime, VCCP’s parent, since its sale to Providence Equity.

What's the word?: Tinder CEO gives crazy interview before parent company's IPO

In Marketing's morning briefing, Shona Ghosh writes that  with the Evening Standard, claiming a model has been "begging" him for sex and admitting he's "addicted" to his own app.

Tinder's brand image is precarious enough, but Rad's interview will have done parent company The Match Group no favours on the eve of its initial public offering.

Other gems from Rad include the claim that he likes an intellectual challenge. He said: "Apparently there’s a term for someone who gets turned on by intellectual stuff. You know, just talking. What’s the word?" 

"I want to say ‘sodomy’."

He meant "sapiosexuality".


Christmas ads: McDonald's to feature fans singing in Christmas campaign

Yesterday, Marketing revealed Sainsbury's wants videos of people reading the new Mog the Cat story. Today, Marketing's Sara Spary reports in the car to I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday. You can see how fun it is in McDonald's new spot, created by Leo Burnett.

The ad is accompanied by a social media push that calls on members of the public to film themselves singing this same song en-route to Christmas (in or , your call) and upload it to a festive themed hub on the McDonald’s site.

Each video entry will be in with a chance of starring in a special 90-second Christmas Day advert that will air during Coronation Street. We're guessing winding up dad earns you extra points with the judges.
