The Prince visited The Trading Floor's head office at Sowerby Bridge Wharf in West Yorkshire to see how has helped to transform the 18th century site's mills and warehouses, attracting businesses, homes and restaurants to the area.
He requested to meet The Trading Floor after hearing about the company's rapid growth.
Since it was founded in 2005 the company has built a 30-strong team and expanded several times into larger offices at the waterside site.
Chris McDonald, managing director of The Trading Floor, said: "We couldn't believe it when Prince Charles said he would like to pay us a visit to see how we are creating so many jobs and building a national business that offers cutting-edge technology from such a historic building that is completely immersed in heritage.
"During the visit he found out all about what we do and met a lot of our employees.
"He was so impressed that at one point we even considered how the Royal Family could use our data and he didn't rule out placing an order."
