MusicWorks, a music research business, has revealed that 87% of people are almost certainly, or definitely, drawn to stands that are playing music.

The findings also showed that 73% of people felt that music was an important factor in creating the ideal atmosphere at an exhibition.

Elsewhere, 76% said they would be drawn to a display with music as opposed to no music

"Maximising stand traffic is every exhibitor's goal. Our research shows that music can be a major factor in boosting footfall," said a MusicWorks spokesperson.

"Traditionally, music has been a key element of retail environments, such as high street shops, which spend considerable time and money ensuring that the right music is played. Event organisers could conceive similar benefits where appropriate."
