The event, organised by agency Freuds, took place on Monday (28 July) and was attended by Pepsico staff and a selection of VIP celebrity guests. These included Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams, chef Marco Pierre White, Sinitta, Made in Chelsea’s Millie Mackintosh and her husband Professor Green and TV presenter George Lamb.
Dedicated themed areas had been created to showcase the six selected crisp flavours including a Mexican-style zone for the sizzling steak fajita variety, and an American-style food vendor cart for the hot dog with tomato ketchup flavour.
Canapés inspired by the six flavours were also served on the night, including pressed beans Croquet Mousier with mature cheddar, smoked paprika steak, green pepper tuile and crispy red onion, mini hot dogs and mini BBQ pulled pork buns, fried chicken in sour cream and chicken curry seved in ceramic bowls.
A series of cocktails to accompany the food were also produced including Tommy’s Chilli Margarita featuring chilli-infused tequila, fresh lemon juice and agave syrup, and Artichoke and Chocolate Negroni consisting of Woodford Reserve, Antica Formula vermouth, Italian bitter liquer cynar, chocolate bitters and ginger ale.
Members of the public were invited to name new crisp flavours as part of the Do Us A Flavour campaign, with the brand selecting its top six to go head-to-head.
