More than 400 event industry professionals, including representatives from the portfolio’s venues, suppliers, press and event planners, arrived at the West End art gallery to see chairwoman Moya Maxwell unveil the organisation’s new logo, colour scheme and website.
Fisher Productions designed, built and installed the reception desk, food stations and bars painted to echo the branding, as well as creating mini treasure chests containing prizes that could only be opened by unique keys given to visitors on arrival.
Caterer By Word of Mouth provided a range of food and drink concepts, including a strawberries and cream station, a ceviche ice bar and a mobile doughnut stand. Guests sipped on bespoke cocktails and Prosecco as they admired the RAA’s summer exhibition, as well as the floral displays created by Simon J Lycett.
Entertainment was provided by Sternberg Clarke and featured Wandering Hands – a five-piece, moving band who took requests. Towards the end of the evening, guests were surprised by a performance from bearded drag diva Le Gateau Chocolat.
Maxwell said: "This evening was as much a celebration of our individual members as it was for Unique Venues of London as a whole, reinforcing our founding premise to champion the use of the capital’s very best venues.
"21 years on our proposition remains the same and to further mark this milestone anniversary, building on our previous achievements, we have refreshed our brand identity and launched a new website. This move looks-forward to the next 21 years and demonstrates our readiness to embrace new technology and our ability to harness developing trends in the events market."
