In pictures: Travel Supermarket hosts competitive street food market

Online comparison service Travel Supermarket turned Canvas One in London's Shoreditch into an international street food festival last week (13 August).

The event was open to the public throughout the day and saw approximately 500 people attend, despite the dreary weather.

Guests were invited to taste food from popular holiday destinations and vote for their favourite dish on the day.  Various food vendors represented the likes of Sri Lanka, Italy and France, and Sri Lanka’s Kothu Kothu was crowned the winner for its Kothu Roti dish.

Travel Supermarket is continuing the campaign by asking its users to write their own street food review. The author of the best write up will win a free holiday for two to Spain.

The experience was designed to celebrate the growing role of food in people’s holiday choices. Shoreditch was cited by the brand as ‘the heart’ of the city’s food scene.
