In pictures: Event 360 - part one

In the first half of today's inaugural Event 360, organised by Event magazine in partnership with sister publication C&IT, delegates are finding out more about the latest innovations and issues affecting the event industry.

Around 250 delegates will be attending the day-long event at London's Tobacco Dock, featuring speaker sessions, one-to-one meetings, live displays and networking opportunities.

During the morning, guests were treated to breakfast and mid-morning grazing food from Zafferano, including scrambled egg and avocado with in little skillets, power berry and energy green juices, cornflake marshmallow cookies and bircher muesli with red berries.

Miriam Staley, managing director of We Make Waves and chair for Event 360, welcomed guests to the event in the main stage area and invited them to use the exclusive Event 360 app, created by Live Group, to live vote during speaker sessions.

Jonathan MacDonald, founder of the Thought Expansion Network, led an interactive ice-breaker session looking at how individuals can take a different perspective on events, citing examples from Fuji, Wonderbra and Harley-Davidson.  

In the Big Questions Live session, chaired by Kevin Jackson, vice president of sales and marketing EMEA at agency George P Johnson, a number of key industry issues were explored, such as how social media can be utilised at events, where events and experiential fit into the marketing mix, and the pitching process. 

The panel agreed that . 

Speakers on the panel included Kia Hanly, head of ITV Events; Alison Williams, divisional events manager, L'Oreal Professional Products, UK & Republic of Ireland; and Vikki Bradney-Spencer, UKI SWG marketing manager and UKI events leader at IBM.

Delegates also had the opportunity to talk to suppliers and venues one-to-one in the connection lounge about their individual needs.
