The events manger, who has previously worked for Barclays Bank and The Spectator, spoke about producing branded events at Event and C&IT’s industry event, Event 360, at London's Tobacco Dock yesterday (5 June).

She explained to the audience how Shortlist Media's events team had expanded their remit to produce large campaigns for the likes of Volvo with only two members of full-time staff.

Ahmed said she took inspiration from the cult reality TV show Challenge Anneka when producing Volvo’s series of car ‘hijacks’, which gave a member of the public the chance to spend £5,000 on experiences in eight hours.

She described how she hired a freelance production hand to help with filming the event series. "I realised early on that it’s not a weakness to hire someone who knows more than you about something."
