Airbnb has teamed up with Disney Pixar's Finding Dory film - the sequel to Finding Nemo - to offer consumers the chance to sleep in a floating apartment above the Great Barrier Reef.

Guests will be welcomed by their host, who has spent much of his life growing up on a boat on the Reef - where the film is set.

The winner and their guest will also enjoy an intimate meal, cooked by well-known Australian chef Neil Perry, which will feature sustainably-sourced seafood and produce. They will also have the chance to explore the Reef up close.

Airbnb Australian country manager Sam McDonagh said: "The opportunity to live at one of the most spectacular places on earth, even if just for a night, is not just about experiencing the unrivalled beauty of the location, it’s about understanding how humans can better help and support this special environment.

"Airbnb will plant mangroves, salt marsh and wetland plants for every guest visiting the region for the rest of the year. These trees will reduce carbon and improve water quality going out to the seas and reef," McDonagh said.

Airbnb will also contribute to an ongoing tiger shark tagging project run by the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.

Those keen to win the chance to stay on this unique apartment need to visit Airbnb’s listings page and state why they’d like to be chosen.
